As a big fan of McLaurin, I was thrilled to see that during Monday night’s preseason match against the Baltimore Ravens, the Washington Commanders chose to keep their key offensive players on the field for the entire first half.
The offense seemed to be doing well, with Sam Howell throwing for almost 200 yards and scoring two touchdowns. However, as the second quarter was ending, things started to go downhill.
Terry McLaurin left the field holding his foot, which seemed hurt, after catching a pass from Howell. He then expressed his frustration by slamming his shoe down on the sideline.
McLaurin was checked by the team’s trainers before being taken to the locker room. It turned out that he had injured his toe, and unfortunately, he wouldn’t be able to play for the rest of the game, according to the team’s announcement after halftime.
It’s believed that McLaurin has a toe sprain, according to the first assessment, and scans didn’t show any significant damage.

He’s seen as being more on a day-to-day basis rather than a serious concern, and there’s hope that he might be able to play in Week 1.
Despite the brilliance on display, the latter part of the second quarter brought an unexpected twist. Terry McLaurin, a pivotal player in the Commanders’ lineup, faced adversity as he walked off the field with an apparent foot injury.

The moment of concern unfolded when McLaurin, after collecting a pass from Howell over the middle, exhibited signs of discomfort.
The apparent frustration escalated when he emphatically slammed his shoe down on the sideline, illustrating his distress.
McLaurin holds the top spot as the team’s wide receiver. In the previous season, he had an impressive performance with 77 receptions, covering 1,191 yards and securing five touchdowns.
This performance earned him a well-deserved spot in the Pro Bowl for the first time. Across his initial four seasons in the NFL, McLaurin has achieved 299 receptions, accumulating a total of 4,281 yards and scoring 21 times.
NFL Seasons | Receptions | Yards | Touchdowns |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 77 | 1,191 | 5 |
Total | 299 | 4,281 | 21 |
